Shocking, but true: Europeans aren't so united after all.French voters rejected the European Union’s first constitution Sunday, a stinging repudiation of President Jacques Chirac’s leadership and the ambitious, decades-long effort to further unite the continent.
All 25 EU members must ratify the text for it to take effect as planned by Nov. 1, 2006. Nine already have done so: Austria, Hungary, Italy, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain.

It's really quite simple, actually. My family says that the constitution is just really vague and that you can't expect people to read through a dense piece of legislature in a month. I think that the "non" vote shows the best choice in progress. A lot of people here are worried about the future of France.
